Skin Care

Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation that causes a light resurfacing of the skin, in which a portion of the stratum corneum is removed and new skin start to grow due to stimulation.

The systems offer the ability to infuse therapeutic agents at the same time that the micodermabrasion is being performed.

What microdermabrasion is used for?

  • Hyperpigmentation /Photo-damaged skin
  • Mild acne
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduction on some types of scars, including acne scarring
  • Helping with the appearance of enlarged pores
  • Reduction in the appearance of stretch marks
  • Refreshing skin texture and improving “glow”
  • Before weddings, reunions, etc to improve skin

What are the potential side effects of microdermabrasion treatment?

The most common side effects are mild to moderate redness, minor skin flaking and in some cases a mild breakout.

What do I need to do after a microdermabrasion treatment?

After a microdermabrasion treatment, you must ensure that you stay out of the sun and avoid heat, excessive sweating.

Am I a suitable candidate for Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is suitable for most skin types with both men and women. In some rare cases a microdermabrasion may not be suitable if the skin is inflamed, sensitive or presents itself with rosacea.

It is important to have a skin consultation prior to your treatment to determine your suitability.

Do the treatments hurt, and how long will they take?

For microdermabrasion, there is a mild pulling sensation (that tiny vacuum cleaner) during the treatment and a gentle, sandpapery feel. Most patients notice just mild discomfort. The treatments usually take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on what else is being done

Which parts of my body can I treat with Microdermabrasion ?

We can treat almost any part of your body with microdermabrasion, and we have different sized tips to accommodate for small to even large areas. Face, Back, Shoulders, Chest, Upper arms and buttocks.

How often should I get microdermabrasion ?

Depending on how much acne or pigment you have and how sensitive your skin is, approximately five microdermabrasions are done one to four weeks apart, followed by a maintenance treatment about every four to eight weeks

How much do microdermabrasion cost?

Microdermabrasion is often priced by the area, such as the face, neck, chest, upper back and discounts are often given if you purchasing a series so it’s difficult to say exactly. A single treatment of face might be $75-150 with a series of 5 in the range of $300-600.

What will I look like right after treatment, and what will the healing time be?

Generally, the skin may look slightly pink for one to two days after the treatment, although not everyone experiences this. Check with your aesthetician, but makeup can be used starting right after the treatment as long as it is applied over a moisturizer and removed very gently.

You will need to increase your use of moisturizers during the treatment period, as your skin will be slightly drier temporarily. Be sure to use sunscreen every morning prior to the treatment.

  • Postpone treatment if an active herpes (cold sore) outbreak exists or if you plan to be exposed to strong sunlight in the next week.
  • Use of Accutane within the last year
  • Antibiotics either topical or systemic
  • Use of topical prescription medication such as Retin A and Renova within the past 7 to 10 days
  • Broken or bruised skin
  • Sunburn
  • Diabetes
  • Active Herpes

Immediately after the treatment.

Moisturizers and sunscreen will be applied before leaving the treatment room.

Moisturize and re-apply sunscreen (at least an SPF 15 with 5-10% zinc or titanium or 3% several times during the day as needed.

Your skin may feel like you had a slight windburn or sunburn. Maintain hydration both topically and internally (drink plenty of water).

Avoid direct sunlight for a week.

Avoid Retin-A and glycolic acids for two-three days after the peel.

* Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools for a few days before and after (chlorine is very drying). Always avoid tanning beds.

What Our Customers Say

Even the first time I had the microdermabrasion done I noticed a huge difference. The dull color of my tired skin was revitalized. Fine lines around my eyes were visibly reduced. I literally could not believe my eyes of how my skin’s pigmentation was evened out. This was a safe and non-invasive procedure that took very little time to recuperate.

I must admit I was very skeptical when I was asked to your ointment. I tried many creams, antibiotics, homeopathic remedies, nothing worked, so I did not expect your cream to work on me either. Yet as I see from my pictures, in only a few days of putting on the ointment there was a definite change. This was a very sensitive issue for me and I was very self-conscious of my feet. During the summer I couldn’t go to the beach for long, because my feet got too dry and my skin cracked. It became very painful during the summer season as well as the dry winter months. I must admit as well I was not too eager to share the before pictures of my feet but I’m not embarrassed anymore. I would like to sincerely thank you for your cream. This is the first time something has worked for my feet, not just temporarily. Even when I do not use the cream daily, my feet still remain soft. Thank you so much Victoria, I wish you all the best with this project. I am positive this cream will affect people the same way it has affected me. Thank you again!

I couldn't breathe easy; my back was sore and having cupping treatment, helped. I felt very good, relaxed, energized.

For many years I waxed and tweezed my hair but really started to get frustrated with the way I looked and felt. My self esteem was at a low. But when I started doing electrolysis, everything changed. My friend recommended I try it and promised that I would be 100% satisfied. Well, she was right. The results are great and the hair does not grow back. My upper lip is clear and the rest of my face is clear as well. Electrolysis is the only way to go for hair removal, especially if you're looking for permanent results.
