Cupping Therapy

Body Care

Cupping therapy, commonly known, as “Chinese cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine.

In Chinese traditional medicine, an injury is seen as a blockage of Qi and Cupping unblocks stagnated Qi.

The mechanism of cupping therapy, placement of cups on selected acupoints on the skin produces hyperemia (increased blood flow) or hemostasis (the stoppage of bleeding), which results in a therapeutic effect.

Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles (anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, edema, digestive issues colds, flus.

Sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure).

Cupping therapy is most often done on the client’s back, but it can be done on almost any body part

First massage oil is applied over the area to be worked on.

The cups are placed on the client’s body at various points.

The cups are left for 15 -20 minutes and then removed and sanitized.

After the treatment the client feels great. No more stiff, sore muscles.

Rather than applying pressure to muscles, the suction uses pressure to pull skin, tissue and muscles resulting in marks on the skin. The more toxins you have, the more marks you usually get from the cups

This is a result of stagnant blood cells and toxins being pulled up to the surface of the skin by the suction cups. The marks are not painful and usually go away in a couple of days.

The color and pattern of the marks depend on the level of stagnation in the area, and range from a bright red to dark purple, usually lasting 3 days to a week – sometimes longer if the person is very sick or sedentary.

Cupping can be done as often as two times a week usually. If the cupping left severe red marks, can be done after the marks go away.

How do you get rid of cupping marks?

Massage the marks for 2 minutes with anti-bruising cream.

Drink more water to facilitate clearance of your cupping marks.

What are the side effects of cupping?

You may also experience sweating or nausea.

After treatment, the skin around the rim of the cup may become irritated and bruised in a circular pattern.

You may also have pain at incision sites or feel lightheaded or dizzy shortly after your session.

This is one of the best skin care treatment I've ever had. During my free consultation I've realized that this procedure can not only get rid of fine lines and wrinkles but my scars and brown spots too. To my delight the actual treatment DID get rid of all it promised. Best of all, there was minimal recovery time. I would definitely recommend to all my friends!

My skin is looking so much better. You came well recommended and I am thankful that I contacted you. I could never have done this without your support.

For many years I waxed and tweezed my hair but really started to get frustrated with the way I looked and felt. My self esteem was at a low. But when I started doing electrolysis, everything changed. My friend recommended I try it and promised that I would be 100% satisfied. Well, she was right. The results are great and the hair does not grow back. My upper lip is clear and the rest of my face is clear as well. Electrolysis is the only way to go for hair removal, especially if you're looking for permanent results.
